New Moon Crescent Observation Report
======================================
Observed:   Wednesday; November 07, 2018  -  05:35 p.m. (Local)

Location (WGS 84) = Tucson, Arizona (USA)
  Longitude = 110.9526 W
  Latitude  =  32.3858 N
  Elevation =  840 meters
  Time Zone =  -7.0 hours

Surface conditions at location:
  Temperature   =   74°F
  Dew Point     =   37°F
  Bar. Pressure  =  29.76 in.?

Only the slight but ever present haze hamprered the observation.

This was my best observation ever, and I think the most significant one. The geometry lined up favorably, and the weather, although it wasn't ideal, was as good as it usually gets. So I planned well, double checked my numbers, even checked my equipment and provided for back-up. To top that all off, the planet Venus preceeded the moon at nearly the same declination. Consequently, I could be positive about my location, timing and focus. Five and a half degrees elongation, a little more than 10 hours old, illumination, width, etc. Records were just waiting to be broken. The only thing that could have made this observation better would have been if I had actually seen anything. I didn't. But I learned a lot about the constraints that would be placed on future possibilities."
