When to Observe Dhul Qeadah Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Friday 19 May 2023) at 15:53 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Friday 19 May 2023) and (Saturday 20 May 2023) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Sunday 21 May 2023 and in the Western Region will be on Sunday 21 May 2023. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Seen: ICOP member Mr. Bachir BENAOUMEUR from العطف City in غرداية State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was very hazy, the crescent was seen by naked eye, the crescent was not sought by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was seen by CCD Imaging
Mr. Bachir BENAOUMEUR said: "تمت رؤية هلال شهر ذو القعدة 1444 هجري بصعوبة لتواجد الغيوم المتفرقة وكثير من الغبار في الأفق الغربي والثلوث الضوئي للمدينة غرداية"

Mr. Hatim El Harrak said: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم . مساء اليوم السبت 29 شوال 1444هـ الموافق لـ 20 ماي 2023 وقمنا بمحاولة رصد هلال شهر ذو القعدة 1444 هـ من مدينة طنجة شمال المملكة المغربية حيث كانت السماء غائمة جزئيا وبعد مدة تمكنت من رصد الهلال بالكاميرا وبعدها تمكنت من رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة كذلك . وتم رصد الهلال في مناطق أخرى من المغرب وكما هي موثقة بالصور من مدينة طنجة  ضمن المرفقات .
وعليه ووفق الإعلان الرسمي ففاتح شهر ذو القعدة هو يوم الغد الأحد 21 ماي 2023"

Eng. Zakaria Guelzim said: "لم أتمكن من رؤية الهلال بعد غروب الشمس نظرا لوجود غيوم في الافق الغربي لمدينة الرباط
و قد تمكن أصدقائي من رؤيته في مدن طنجة و بوجدور والداخلة. 

كما أعلنت وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية عن ثبوت رؤية هلال شهر ذي القعدة 1444هـ ليكون فاتح الشهر هو يوم الأحد 21 ماي 2023م، وفيما يلي نص بلاغ الوزارة في هذا الشأن:

فاتح شهر ذي القعدة 1444هـ هو يوم الأحد 21 ماي 2023م
 "تنهي وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية إلى علم المواطنين أنها راقبت هلال شهر ذي القعدة، بعد مغرب يوم السبت 29 شوال 1444هـ الموافق لـ 20 ماي 2023م.

فثبتت لديها رؤية الهلال ثبوتا شرعيا
وعليه فإن فاتح شهر ذي القعدة هو يوم غد الأحد 21 ماي 2023."

Eng. Omar AlHaidari said: "تم رصد الهلال ومشاهدته من خلال التليسكوب بعد مغيب الشمس ب 15 دقيقة، وبالكاد تمت رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة بعد 25 دقيقة من مغيب الشمس لوجود كدرة بالأفق الغربي."

Mr. Sami Al-Harbi said: "تمت مشاهدة هلال شهر ذي القعدة عبر المنظار حاولت تصويره عبر الجوال لكن لم يتسنى لي تصويره "

Qamar Uddin from York City in North Yorkshire State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was hazy, the crescent was seen by naked eye, the crescent was seen by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging
Eng. Qamar Uddin said: "There were a group of 4 adults who saw the moon from York today (20/5/2023), first by binoculars (9:37 pm BST) followed by 2 members who also saw it by naked eye (9:41 pm) before it went into the clouds above the horizon. The group members were, myself (Qamar Uddin), Dr Bashir Dodo, Br Luqman Muraina and Br Aqaele Peeroo. Many places throughout the UK also saw the moon today, Alhamdulillah [bit.ly/Results1444-11a]"

Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "This evening (Saturday, May 20, 2023), the crescent moon was not seen in Blacksburg.  For the most part, the sky was cloudy."
