When to Observe Dhul Hijjah Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Tuesday 27 May 2025) at 03:02 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Tuesday 27 May 2025) and (Wedensday 28 May 2025) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Wedensday 28 May 2025 and in the Western Region will be on Wedensday 28 May 2025. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Mr. Amara GUERRAH said: "بفضل الله تم رصد هلال شهر ذي الحجة مغرب اليوم من سماء الرباح الوادي - الجزائر - بالمنظار أولا ثم بالكاميرا ثم بالعين المجردة كذلك ، حيث تم رصده بالمنظار بعد 27 دقيقة من غروب الشمس ولمدة عشرين دقيقة وبالعين المجردة بعد 35 دقيقة ولمدة دقيقة اول اقل .

اللهم أهله علينا باليمن والايمان والسلم والسلام ربنا وربك الله هلال خير ورشد."

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The new crescent of Dzulhijjah 1446 AH was not sighted on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from Assalaam Observatory at PPMI Assalaam, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia. The sky was cloudy and hazy.

However, according to the Istbat of The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, the 1st of Dzulhijjah 1446 AH in Indonesia will start on Wednesday, May 28, 2025."



Iran

Location: 40 Kilometer from Shahreza to Semiram road (Gardaneh Khoroosgeloo) (latitude: 31 42 N, longitude: 51 45 E, elevation: 2320m from sea level, time zone: +3.5 GMT)
Equipments: One Set Of 20*120 binoculars, One Set Of 15*70 binoculars, One Compass.
Atmospheric condition: partly cloudy and Hazy
Horizon obstacles: about .5°
Apparent Sunset: 18:53
Results: Moon crescent was seen by 20*120 binoculars by Hossein Janghorbani at 19:22 and 19:23, for the first time.
A strange object suspected of being a UFO was seen with 20*120 binoculars and is being investigated.

Qamar Uddin from Thirsk (Sutton Bank) City in North Yorkshire State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was hazy, the crescent was seen by naked eye, the crescent was seen by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging
Eng. Qamar Uddin said: "It was totally cloudy and raining in York but the weather forecast showed it would be clear in the northwest direction, so a group of us travelled to Yorkshire Gliding Club grounds in Sutton Bank (Thirsk, UK). Our group comprised of seven people, four from York and three from Leicester (as it was totally cloudy there, too). There was a big cloud break above the sunset position, and so the moon was clearly seen with binoculars (20×80) and soon afterward two of the Leicester brothers also saw it with the naked eye, MashaAllah. Many congratulations to our Leicester brothers for their dedication and enthusiasm to travel over 100 miles to join the York group and they were the first to spot the moon. We also had reports of sightings from Leeds and Dewsbury, so our ICOUK Ulama Panel had multiple testimonies, Alhamdulillah"

Mr. Messaoud Kechida said: "بفضل من الله تمكنا من رصد هلال آخر الشهر بكل وضوح مع التمكن من تصويره حتى بأبسط آلات التصوير "
