Last Updated 17 July 2006

When to Observe ?

The geocentric new Moon will occur on Tuesday 29 August 2000, at 10:19 UT. On this day (29 August), the program Moon Calculator by Dr. Monzur Ahmed -according to Yallop criterion- showed that the crescent will not be seen by naked eyes from anywhere on Earth. While it could be seen using optical aid in some western parts of America. Where as on the following day (30 August), the crescent should be easily visible by naked eyes nearly in all countries. Consequently, arrange to observe the crescent after the sunset of 29 August or 30 August. Kindly click on the below icon to see the visibility parabola as plotted by the program Moon Calculator

Results of seeing the crescent, and the first day of Jumadal Thani in different countries will be added here Inshalla as we receive the reports from ICOP's members. If you wish to be a member in ICOP, or to know more about it, kindly click here.
