It was over 59 hours old, but only 4° altitude at sunset and it was seen just after 4 pm GMT when it was about 2° altitude. It was not seen yesterday (2/12/2024) due to the very low altitude of the moon during the Major Lunar Standstills, even though it was seen in other equatorial countries like Morocco. We hope to see the next few Hilals at a very high altitude (as a payback for the low altitude) in the next few months and possibly before other equatorial countries (e.g., on 27/5/2025), InshaAllah. It was a binocular-only sighting as the moon went into a dark bank of clouds before it could be seen by the naked eye (as seen in other places). See the YouTube Video."
