According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Tuesday 25 July 2017 and in the Western Region will be on Monday 24 July 2017. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

- Results of seeing the crescent, and the first day of the month in different countries will be added here Inshalla as we receive the reports from ICOP's members. If you wish to be a member in ICOP, or to know more about it, kindly click here.

It was clear sky before sunset but it soon became cloudy after sunset when the moon was very close to the horizon below the treeline. Two of the astronomers said they saw it with binoculars for few seconds (before sunset), but majority of us could not see it with either binoculars or naked eye (before or after sunset). It was good practice for our new participants and they went away confident to try the methods of locating the moon in their own cities in future, InshaAllah"

I am at Colombo and sighted the crescent very straight down Venus from 2nd floor of my house at 5.05am until the Sunrise 6.02am. The orientation was 4-10 o'clock at the start of the sighting but it decreased to 4-8 o'clock when it got close to the Sunrise time.
Positive sighting reports also came from Pottuvil by Moulavi Abdul Hai (Rashady), Thihariya by Moulavi Mazeen Al-Makhdoomy (Hasani), Kinniya by Moulavi faizal (Rahmany) and from Galle by Bro.Abdullah.
It is very clear evident that tomorrow on Sunday morning sighting the waning crescent is impossible as well as the countries whom are expecting to sight the waxing crescent after Sunset for the month of Dhul-Qadah has to think twice how they can ask the public to sight for the crescent on a day where the conjunction occurs very close to the Sunset time."
