When to Observe Dhul Qeadah Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Sunday 27 April 2025) at 19:31 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Sunday 27 April 2025) and (Monday 28 April 2025) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Tuesday 29 April 2025 and in the Western Region will be on Monday 28 April 2025. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

بعد مغيب شمس يوم حاولنا رصد وتحري هلال شهر ذي القعدة سنة 1446 هــ الى وانه لم نوفق في رصده علما ان الحالة الجوية كانت صافيا وفي اخير احييكم و سلام عليكم و رحمة الله تعالى براكته "

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ، وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالْإِسْلاَمِ، وَالتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ رَبَّنَا وَتَرْضَى، رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ ، هِلاَلُ خيْرٍ و رُشْدٍ ."

Results: Moon crescent was seen by 15*70 binoculars by Hossein Janghorbani at 19:05, for the first time.

Observation Summary:
According to scientific data and crescent moon visibility maps, it was predicted that the crescent moon of Dhu al-Qadah would be easily visible in this region.
The members of the Istihlal group of Tahour Observatory, stationed at the observation site, began locating the crescent moon during sunset. They successfully sighted the crescent moments after sunset using binoculars, and subsequently, the crescent moon was sighted by the members with the naked eye.

ملخص الرصد:
بالنظر إلى البيانات العلمية وخرائط رؤية الهلال، كان من المتوقع أن يكون هلال شهر ذي القعدة مرئياً بسهولة في هذه المنطقة.
قام أعضاء فريق الاستهلال بمرصد طهور، المتمركزون في موقع الرصد، بتحديد موقع الهلال أثناء غروب الشمس. وقد نجحوا في رؤية الهلال لحظات بعد غروب الشمس باستخدام المنظار ذي العينين، وفي وقت لاحق، تمكن الأعضاء من رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة.

- The crescent began to be seen through optical instruments when the sun was Alt +3.95°
- The crescent began to be seen with the naked eye when the sun was Alt -2.70°"

Eng. Qamar Uddin said: "The weather in York today (28/4/2025) was partly cloudy and the four of us (Dr Afaq Ahmad, Hafiz Ashna Janagha, Dr Madian Othman, and I) were hopeful to see the 24-hour-old moon, high up in the sky (12° altitude at sunset) through a cloud-break. We had samosas and tea, prayed Maghrib, and waited for the sky to get darker. We saw Jupiter clearly, but we couldn't see the moon as it was behind a dark bank of clouds. However, we have received reports of naked-eye sighting from many other parts of the UK, Alhamdulillah"

كان هلال صعب بالنسبه لنا في حضرموت وهي اطراف المنطه الزهرية في خرائط إمكانية الرؤيه"
