Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "In the afternoon, at 2:20 pm EDT, using a pair of binoculars (7 x 50, I was able to see the crescent in a partly cloudy sky. The crescent's horns were approximately at 1:00 and 4:00 o'clock (1:00;2:30;4:00). For a short period, I tried sighting it with naked eye with no success. Venus was also seen through the binoculars.

Later in the evening, I arrived at my sighting location prior to sunset (sunset: 7:41 pm). The western horizon was mostly cloudy and hazy. Assessing the sighting possibility, I decided to change my location a bit to the north. I arrived at the second location at 8:01 pm. Using the pair of binoculars, I looked for the crescent in the small openings where I expected the moon to be based on the Stellarium software. My first binocular sighting was at 8:16 pm followed by naked eye sighting (with difficulty) at 8:19 pm. At no time I could see the entire crescent, however. Therefore, I could not determine the exact horns' positions. At 8:24 pm, I no longer could see the moon even through the binoculars as it disappeared under the clouds hugging the lower part of the horizon (moonset: 8:29 pm)."

Mr. Ahmad Junaidi said: "Early this morning, under the peaceful skies of a rice field near "Songgolangit Observatory" in Ponorogo, I embarked on observing the crescent marking the 27th of Rabiul Awal 1446. The air was fresh and still, with a slight moisture from the surrounding fields enhancing the serenity of the moment. As dawn gradually illuminated the eastern horizon, the faint but distinct crescent appeared, low and delicate, signaling the 27th day of this lunar month. Alhamdulillah, with precision and patience, I successfully captured the crescent alongside a special celestial visitor: Comet C/2023 A3. The comet, gracefully positioned to the right of the crescent, added a rare beauty to the scene, its dim glow contrasting with the sharp clarity of the crescent. This was a profound moment, connecting traditional Islamic lunar observation with the wonders of the cosmos, all in the early hours of a quiet morning."
