The geocentric new Moon will occur Inshalla on Wednesday (27 Aug 2003), at 17:26 UT. On this day (Wednesday 27 Aug 2003), it is not possible to see the crescent from anywhere on Earth.

by Dr. Monzur Ahmed -according to Yallop criterion- showed that it is possible to see the crescent by optical aid from the west parts of Pacific Ocean, parts of Australia, Asia, and Northren Europe. While it should be seen by naked eyes from most parts of Asia, Southren Europe, Africa, and North, Central and South America.
According to the actual sighting of the crescent, the start of Rajab should be on Friday 29 Aug 2003 in all countries.
