When to Observe Dhul Qeadah Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Wedensday 08 May 2024) at 03:22 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Wedensday 08 May 2024) and (Thursday 9 May 2024) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Thursday 09 May 2024 and in the Western Region will be on Thursday 09 May 2024. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The new crescent of Dhul Qo'dah 1445 AH was not sighted on Wednesday, May 08, 2024 from Assalaam Observatory at PPMI Assalaam, Pabelan Kartasura  Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia. The sky was totally cloudy. The 1st of Dhul Qo'dah 1445 AH in Indonesia will start on Friday, May 10, 2024."

Mr. Juned Patel said: "On May 8, 2024,  the crescent moon chase, a journey from Bolton to Winchester, then Marget and bank home, covering a round trip of 644 miles. Unfortunately, despite the extensive effort, the sighting was negative due to clouds.

Living at latitude 53, we have a rare opportunities to observe a young crescent moon within 18 hours of its conjunction. Yesterday, at 16:30 hours age moon, with the moon at just 0.59% illumination, I have been waiting for this evening's chance to spot the crescent. I have been planning and preparing for the occasion and was willing to go to any extreme, had planned 5 to 6 contingency plans. Unfortunately, my journey from one end of the country to the other was in vain, as the low horizon, below 12 degrees, remained obscured throughout the day. I was unaware of other locations in the UK where conditions might have been different. It's worth noting that this crescent would hav"

والحمد لله رب العالمين.
By the will of Almighty Allah, the waxing crescent i.e. the crescent of the month of Zilqad has been seen by naked eyes by the locals from cox's bazar, Bandarban, Sylhet, sunamganj (districts of Bangladesh). Therefore tomorrow (may 10) is the 1st day of Zilqad in Bangladesh. A photo of the observation report gathered from all districts is given below."

Mr. Abdul-Aziz Anyang said: "Although,some regions have very cloudy skies after Ghana's sunset times, the hilal was seen after Shawwal was counted 30 days in Ghana."

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The new crescent of DzulQo'dah 1445 AH was not sighted on Thursday, May 09, 2024 from Assalaam Observatory at PPMI Assalaam, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia. The sky was very cloudy.

The new crescent was captured by mr Junaidi at South Beach of Java and Nur Sidqon at Kudus Central Java."

Dr. Abdullah Kamil said: "تمت الرصد بواسطة العين المجردة وكذلك بنظارة الميدان من قرية عداية جنوب غرب الموصل قرب ناحية المحلبية والجو كان غائم بنسبة ٨٠ بالمائة وكان يظهر من بين الغيم ويختفي وتم رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة وكذلك بواسطة نظارة الميدان وكذلك تم تصويره بواسطة كاميرت الموبايل من قبل اللجنة الدائمة لتحديد بداية الاشهر الهجرية في ديوان الوقف السني"

Mr. HASHAM SHREF said: "تم رؤية هلال أخر شهر العين المجردة لم يكن داعي تحري هلال باستخدام الأجهزة رؤية الهلال "

Dr. Ayyub Patel said: "THe waning crescent was chased but not seen. however upon examining the camera photos i found it inthe very first photo taked at 0509am"
