The geocentric new Moon will occur Inshallah on (Tuesday 08 February 2005),
at 22:28 UT. On this day the program Moon Calculator by Dr.
Monzur Ahmed -according to Yallop criterion- showed that it is not possible to
see the crescent from any where in the world.
While on the next day (Wednesday 09 February 2005) the crescent should be
visible by optical aid from south east Asia, India, Middle east and the southern
parts of Europe. The crescent should be visible by the naked eye from Africa and
the Americas.
According to the actual sighting of the crescent, the start of Muharram
should be on Thursday 10 February 2005 from most countries of the world.
- Results of seeing the crescent, and the first day of the month in different
countries will be added here Inshalla as we receive the reports from ICOP's
members. If you wish to be a member in ICOP, or to know more about it, kindly click here.
