The geocentric new Moon will occur Inshalla on Tuesday (01 April 2003), at 19:19 UT. On this
day (Tuesday 01 April 2003), it is not possible to see the crescent from anywhere on Earth.
While on the next day (Wednesday 02 April 2003) the program Moon Calculator
by Dr. Monzur Ahmed -according to Yallop criterion- showed that it is possible to see the
crescent by optical aid from the Parts of Indian Ocean, Middle east, Africa, southern parts of Europe,
southern parts of South America and the northern parts of North America. While it should be
seen by naked eyes from most parts of USA, Central America and northern parts of Southern
America.
According to the actual sighting of the crescent, the start of Safar will be on Thursday 03 April 2003 in most parts of the world or on 04 April 2003 for the eastren countries.
