The geocentric new Moon will occur Inshalla on Thursday (01 May 2003), at 12:15 UT. On this day (Thursday 01 May 2003), it is not possible to see the crescent from anywhere on Earth.
While on the next day (Friday 02 May 2003) the program Moon Calculator
by Dr. Monzur Ahmed -according to Yallop criterion- showed that it is possible to see the crescent by optical aid from the west parts of Pacific Ocean, most parts of Asia, Northren Europe, southren parts of Africa and southren parts of South America. While it should be seen by naked eyes from the Middle East, Central and North Africa, Southren parts of Europe, North America, Central America and most of South America.
According to the actual sighting of the crescent, the start of Rabee' I should be on Saturday 03 May 2003 in all countries.

So far, the earliest sighting of the crescent was on Friday 02 May 2003 from Malaysia by Dr. Zainol Abidin Ibrahim.
